Why the credential matters
In BC, anyone using the title “orthodontist” must hold specialty registration with the BC College of Oral Health Professionals — a credential earned through two to three additional years of full-time orthodontic residency after dental school. How the two of us work together
Dr. Haerian treats patients at the Coquitlam clinic day to day; Dr. Kanani founded the network and remains closely involved in its clinical standards and in the more complex cases. Both are Certified Specialists in Orthodontics registered with BCCOHP, both trained through accredited residencies, and both hold the same view of what good orthodontics looks like: diagnose before recommending, guide growth when it's possible, offer every option honestly, and put the fee in writing with retainers inside it. Patients occasionally see both of us; the plan is always one plan.
